Disaster Relief

Disaster Relief Overview

Every day around the world, people’s lives are rocked by natural disasters, conflicts, plagues and famine. GHNI responds to these crises by partnering with local communities and aid agencies.

Our goal is to provide immediate, practical help. We mobilize medical teams to supply health care, while our volunteer teams offer construction, counseling, and food. We distribute supplies people need - necessities like blankets, clothing, food and medicine.

GHNI has been on the ground to help after disasters around the globe, from the crisis in Darfur to the 2004 tsunami in Southeast Asia, the cyclone in Myanmar, the earthquake in China and the conflict in Afghanistan.

We also offer a Disaster Relief Training Workshop in several cities. The workshop pre-equips volunteers to respond to disasters with basic relief skills that will help them function effectively as part of a disaster response team.
