India – Encounter
September 26 – October 5 (Example only)
We recently met a visionary young leader from the Santal tribe in East India. He was among the first ever from his village to receive a college education and to have the opportunity to join the growing middle class. Yet he looked back and saw his fellow villagers struggling in poverty and poor health and with little hope for improving their own situation. So he has asked GHNI to partner with him in bringing about sustainable development among his people. Come help us get started!

Encounter – This is a relief or early-stage development site: Assist project leaders with relief work or setting up new development projects. Encounter trips try to balance learning and cultural opportunities with active project work.

Engage – This is an established development site: Join project leaders and local residents working on community development projects together. Engage trips typically focus more on active project work.

**Trip costs: Costs include all in-country meals (except alcoholic beverages), accommodations, transportation and tips, as well as a contribution toward local GHNI humanitarian aid projects. Listed costs do not include your travel costs to and from the team gathering destination, visa and passport fees, or any personal expenses.
