Expanding Sustainability to New Places

The previous months were very challenging. Until now, our Transformational Community Development (TCD) work has primarily included work in Ɖorgovska mahala, where we are very dedicated. It is our model village for TCD within the Roma community. We went with the team to another settlement where there was an opportunity to work. It is 50 kilometers from Ɖorgovska mahala. We were welcomed very nicely to Zaguzanje, but for some reason, people changed their minds, and we had to stop working. After a short break, they called us again to come back and continue our work. We have four families who have begun to work with us and want sustainability.
We also followed a lead to Surdulica, our third settlement, where we met some women who live there. We went to visit them regularly, and with them, we established contact with a smaller group. We introduced them to TCD work, and they want to continue development in their neighborhood. We want to empower and train the community on how to serve the whole person and work on their development and transformation. We also have an invitation for one more settlement in Surdulica.
In October, the door was opened wide for the TCD Vision Seminar in Leskovac and the possibility for further cooperation and TCD work. Roma leaders were present, and they want us to continue training. Also, at the beginning of December, we will have a Vision Seminar in Vranje with another leadership group.
