7 Days and 6 Nights: Chainpur & Manahari Villages

Join our team on a trip to one of the most beautiful mountainous regions of the world to explore Nepal, a landlocked Himalayan country where sherpas trudge the mountain paths and prayer flags crisscross the sky. In the midst of this beauty, villagers struggle to eke out a living.

We will be visiting tenant farmers in Chainpur and Manahari Villages who can only farm for 2-3 months of the year. The food produced is insufficient for their survival. Through our TCD program, GHNI is helping them to provide alternative food sources and improve their economic, educational, and health status.

• Hear directly from business owners on benefits of income generation programs.
• Experience traditional Nepalese food and music.
• Distribute practical supplies and gifts to help these hidden villagers.
• Learn about our TCD programs and assist villagers in income generation or health awareness.
• GHNI offers pre-trip training and teaching on Nepal’s history and the villages’ regional political and economic issues.

Visit Chitwan National Park where you can ride elephants, experience a jungle safari, and gaze at the beauty of the Himalayas.

Tentative Itinerary

• Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu
• Day 2: Depart to Bharatpur & team briefing
• Day 3: Visit Chainpur Village (meet community leaders, hear success stories, seed distribution, work in a kitchen garden, visit poultry & beekeeping/honey production
• Day 4: Visit Ramantar Village (visit micro shops, beekeeping, poultry, & ornament making projects) Community Game Day with local children and moms
• Day 5: Chitwan National Park fun day riding elephants and a jungle safari
• Day 6: Leave for Kathmandu
• Day 7: Depart for home
