Villagers Assess Challenges They Need to Solve
October 9, 2022

Eighteen members (representing about 20% of the households) of the village of Mae Pa Pai gathered together to assess and discuss Transformational Community Development (TCD) and the greatest development challenges their village faces. The villagers identified two economic issues (raising pigs and traditional sewing/weaving) as the top issues facing the community, with water and trash being the next most pressing concerns. Our team was proud of the participation from the village – even teens were involved. The Chief of the village even humbly decided to share last so that the villagers’ true opinions would have a chance to come out – a rare feat for a leader in Thailand. Our team will follow-up on the ad-hoc committees formed, and will soon begin committee training.
Thank you!
