With the Transformational Community Development (TCD) program, we are not limited to providing only development and awareness lessons for women. We are also interested in teaching them different skills to increase the family’s income. A sewing course was held, and women were taught to cut trousers and install elastic bands. They also learned where to buy fabric at a cheap price and how to market their products. Among the ladies was a woman named Samiha who was very smart and learned quickly. One of her dreams is to work on a large project and help her husband with the household expenses.

We continued a TCD children’s group in Ezbit El Nakhl Village. While reviewing the previous lessons, we looked to ensure that the children understood the lessons. We also evaluated the extent of the changes that occurred within their hearts. Barbara, a child in her early teens, participated and said, “I used to put lenses in my eyes, and I cared that my appearance would be different and beautiful. I used to wear makeup, and my eyes used to hurt, but I didn’t know why. After I attended a lesson about eyes, I learned that I should keep my eyes clean and stay away from everything that could cause infections in them. I cut down a lot on using makeup and contact lenses, and I constantly care about the cleanliness of my eyes now. I also wash my feet when I come home so their dirtiness does not hurt me, and I take a shower every day so that I can stay clean.”
