Progressing a Village’s Education
March 10, 2023

Gem community members are very happy with this term of national educational examination results. Community members didn’t think about Education before, and parents were not bothered by a lack of schooling for their children. After becoming aware of the problem, GHNI worked through Transformational Community Development (TCD) and began explaining to the community the importance of Education and supporting children who were willing to study but didn’t have any financial support. They bought uniforms and also paid school fees for the children. This really became motivational to children, and it encouraged them to continue their education as they knew they now had a partner. Fruit has been seen after a period of coaching and nurturing. Students have finished secondary school (high school), and those who were in college graduated as teachers and other professions. This has really motivated the community and the children, helping them to love education more and more.
Community members have become very interested in education, which helped GHNI visit schools in Gem. They were able to provide them with revision materials, and parents and teachers were very happy with this help. After results were seen, more revised materials were given to students, and more students progressed. For the first time ever, Gem Village produced five students with high results in the educational exam, and this made the entire community happy, thanking GHNI for the great work they are doing within the community.
Thank you!
