Forgiveness Brings Peace
March 30, 2023
We continue to present a Transformational Community Development (TCD) program for children. Our recent lesson was about anger, and we taught the children that anger is an internal feeling of distress that is sometimes accompanied by a loud voice and nervousness. Yousef participated in the lesson and shared, “I have a very nervous personality. I yell and fight with my sister all the time, and our voices seem louder than the two of us. Today, after I heard the lesson about anger, its causes, and its treatment, I learned that anger is a natural feeling, but my expression of it is wrong. I also learned to train myself to respond calmly to anything that makes me angry and to be calm in responding to any situation that confronts me in my life. My voice should be calm, or I can leave the place until I am calm.”
We continued to present the TCD lessons involving psychological and social lessons. We taught forgiveness to others and learned about the meaning of forgiveness and forgetting mistakes. We presented the impact of unforgiveness on society, with the result being severed and broken relationships. Through the lesson, Umm Isaac shared his story. “I am at odds with my son and his wife, and our relationship with each other is completely broken. My son does not ask about me under any circumstances, and I used to feel lonely, distressed, and lacking peace. Now I feel satisfied and at peace because I forgave him, and forgiving him restored our relationship with each other.”
Thank you,
