A Source of Celebration
June 26, 2023
Umm Rami participated in the Transformational Community Development (TCD) program and said, “I learned in the program lessons about a mother’s relationship with her children and the important characteristics of the ideal mother. I learned she is to be a role model and a source of love, affection, and guidance, and she should look for solutions to the problems that the family goes through. Later, I had a problem. I did not know if I should approve my daughter’s marriage to a groom who was about 12 years older than her. I was hesitant about how to advise my daughter on what the advantages and disadvantages might be, so I shared with her what I learned in the TCD group about successful marriage and the appropriate choices. It helped her make the right decision for engagement.”
Every three months, we have a celebration, and children share what they learned through their TCD lessons. We also distributed 30 bags of groceries to very poor families and widows from the Shobra Al-Kheima community, which caused joy among the community members.
Thank you,
