A Teen’s Success Story
February 7, 2024
Wende, a teenager, is the youngest member of the Women’s Cooperative engaged in the business of palm oil production in Effaho. She runs her own business and single-handedly processes palm kernels to produce palm oil. She produces a minimum of 100 liters per day and makes 30,000 francs or more daily. Wende pays her school fees and pays for other living expenses for her family from the income she makes from her palm oil business. Wende is one of a couple dozen women who have increased their income from last year and are now enjoying a better life. Teti, the Transformational Community Development (TCD) worker, introduced the concept of a Women’s Cooperative, which has grown their businesses. He is thrilled that the women of Effaho have evolved from abject poverty and are getting better by the day since they chose the path of development and self-sustainability. Wende is a TCD success story!
