Village Leaders are Key to Progress
April 3, 2024
We went to the community next to the train station. We had visited this community once before and had the opportunity to talk with the villagers there. We were introduced to this community through an organization that had been working with them for over six years regarding supporting education for their children, and they put us in touch with community leaders.
We explained our project to the leaders, then heard about the situation in the community from each leader. The main problem of this community is not owning their own land. They are on the land of the train station. From talking with the villagers, they said that if the development of the train station project comes to their place, they will have to leave this community. Another thing is that they want to see development. They are concerned about the development of their children’s education.
We are now waiting for their response to want to learn about Transformational Community Development (TCD). When they accept learning about community development, we will have another opportunity to talk with them.
Thank you!
