Loans Repaid and Loans Extended to Others
July 15, 2024
The Transformational Community Development (TCD) program empowers the community to identify their needs, helps solve the problems themselves using local resources, and leads to a self-sustaining community. Regardless of the tragedy and conflicts happening in the area, it is so encouraging to see the progress that the community continues to make this month. It has been almost two months that we couldn’t connect with our Champion in the village due to phone and the internet lines shut down. We had no clue what was happening in the area.
After two months, when the villagers accessed the limited phone line again, our Champion made a phone call to us. It was encouraging to hear all the updates and progress the community has been doing during the two months. The TCD committees are still motivated and leading change.
The Agricultural Rehabilitation Committee managed the first batch of loan takers and all returned their loans with a small interest rate. So the committee decided to continue to lend funds to another 32 families respectively. We are so impressed by what the community has achieved with this program. The agricultural program plays an important role in the village’s food security during this challenging time. The right community attitude towards transforming their lives has a huge impact on the livelihood of those beneficiaries and the entire community.
Thank you,
