Today, the Ratchaboot community has reached a remarkable milestone: access to clean, safe water for drinking and cooking is now a reality. This achievement is a steady and inspiring step forward in their journey of water development, sparked by the lessons learned through the Transformational Community Development (TCD) program. After realizing the vital importance of water hygiene, residents like Naro and Amimah took the initiative to implement small-scale Bio-sand filters right in their own homes.

Our recent collaborative water quality tests have confirmed a breakthrough—the water quality has improved significantly, exceeding expectations. But the impact goes far beyond physical health; it is a profound shift in a decades-long mindset. For the first time in years, the community is breaking old habits. As Naro shared with us, she now relies entirely on her filtered water system for her daily needs, leaving behind the unfiltered tap water she had used for a lifetime. This success in Ratchaboot isn’t just about clean water, it’s about a community empowered to change its own future, one drop at a time. Beyond this, Naro is already looking toward the future. She plans to further enhance the filtration process by incorporating Biochar—a high-quality charcoal—to achieve even higher levels of purity. She expects to begin implementing this upgrade very soon.”
