Teenagers Encouraged to Prioritize Education

July 15, 2024

A class session being done under a large tree.

In Kouvome Village, Transformational Community Development (TCD) impacts all age groups and activities locals are involved in. Earlier in the month, we talked to some secondary school students, mostly teenagers. We encouraged them to make education their priority by giving attention to what they are being taught in school. Education is the door to the brighter future they desire. The village needs a secondary school because, at the moment, these students have to travel about 6 km to attend school.

The locals were also in very high spirits as the VIP latrines were officially opened on the 13th of May, we encouraged them to maintain the toilets by keeping them in perfect sanitary conditions.

The villagers are also striving to reach their goal for agriculture of a community owned ginger farm, so far the agriculture committee has raised 3000 CFA from the locals for the purchase of ginger seeds, this is far below what is needed but the committee is not relenting in their efforts and hope to raise more money just in time for the planting season.

Thank you!
