Continual Development Empowers a Community
October 6, 2022
Harowayo Village is one of the villages where we are working. Our Transformational Community Development (TCD) coach and the TCD committee are working hard in this village to bring development to every sector of TCD. One of the Wellness Committee’s goals is to have toilets in each family compound, which is one of the TCD activities carried out by the villagers.
The TCD committee built a sample toilet at the start of our activity in this village, and the majority of the community took the idea and built a toilet in their compound. This was a tremendous accomplishment for the organisation and the community coordinators. Half of the villagers now have individual toilets in their compounds. In addition, during market day, the Wellness Committee constructed a communal toilet in the marketplace. The TCD committee and the villagers are monitoring the community’s use of the toilets and encouraging and teaching them about the benefits.
Thank you!
