Driven by our commitment to fostering community growth from a strong foundation, our organization successfully hosted an intensive 2-day workshop on Transformational Community Development (TCD) in Pua District, Nan Province, Thailand. We are deeply grateful for your generous support, which has played a vital role in nurturing these seeds of change. This event served as a bridge connecting a total of 30 community development leaders and field staff from both Thailand and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR). As the driving force behind various localized development projects, these participants arrived with a shared vision: to seek fresh perspectives on engaging with communities respectfully and appropriately within their unique contexts, while promoting active participation and designing development plans that truly address the genuine needs of the local people.

Throughout the training, the atmosphere was filled with the vibrant energy of learning and cross-cultural exchange, emphasizing an action-based learning approach. The program ranged from establishing the core principles of sustainable development to mastering universal planning tools. A key highlight was the creation of a collaborative “ideation lab,” where participants brainstormed, proposed creative ideas, and practiced open-ended questioning to stimulate critical thinking. These skills serve as essential tools that will enable them to engage and work with their respective communities more effectively. As a result, our fellow developers from both nations returned home not only with practical knowledge and tangible resources but also with a newly woven regional network of practitioners ready to encourage and share experiences with one another in the future. Your vital support for this initiative, therefore, extends far beyond the workshop room in Pua District; it has been transformed into skills, knowledge, and inspiration within these 30 leaders, who are now fully equipped to drive sustainable self-reliance and create a lasting positive impact for remote communities across both Thailand and Lao PDR.
