We are doing a TCD training in Arabic with a partner from outside Beirut in February, 2023.

During our visit last October to Lebanon, we met with Wes Black the founder of the Cedars group. They work in the Bekaa valley among the Syrian refugees especially in the area of education. He is very interested in our TCD model and wants to be our partner. End of Feb 23, Youhanna from Egypt is going to conduct a TOTCD training in partnership with the Cedars. He will be training 25 people ( foreigners and Lebanese ). After the training, our objective is to employ a TCD worker and start planning for a long- term project.

Bekka Valley refugees

These are refugees who are looking for sustainable solutions to life. We will introduce TCD principles in February, 2023, in Arabic, and will establish a long-term partnership with Wes Black and his team to follow-up on this training. We will focus on finding a TCD advocate and setting achievable goals. Youhanna and his team are willing to return to teach again and do follow-up training.

As of May 2021, the decline places Lebanon in the top 3 worst economic crises of the last 150 years. Hundreds of families have faced homelessness and do not have access to basic needs.

As we continue to send GHNI teams out to Lebanon, our goal will be to continue building local partnerships and work towards self sustainability through Transformational Community Development (TCD).
