Light Amid a Tragic Accident
August 15, 2022
As some may know, my Father recently suffered a major stroke. This is not the only medical crisis we encountered in the community.
A police officer named Soyuz suffered a similar tragedy. We used to buy fertiliser for our F.A.I.T.H. Garden (Food Always in the Home) from him. He is a very good person. Two weeks ago he had a big problem when his 1 year old child fell into the river. At this time one of his neighbors saw this and saved his child from the river. They took the child to the Hospital. He was in a coma.
He called me when I was in Uzbekistan taking care of my father and asked me for help. I helped him any way that I could – financially and emotionally. This was his only child and it took him and his wife 5 years to have this baby. We tried to help him and be in contact with him every day. After 3 days his son woke up. He called me and said “Oleg , I don’t know what you did, but you and your support made all the difference in the world.” He said, “no matter what problem you have in any village, I will help you and your organization in your work (Transformational Community Development (TCD).” Now we have a true Person of Peace in the village who will help us so the people of the region receive help and hope.
For 3 months we have been working in the Gordon’s*** village and we have made good progress. We made 100 F.A.I.T.H. Gardens (Food Always in the Home). This will provide them with food in Autumn. People are very happy. This also helps us make good relationships with the people of the village, including the mayor.
Over the next 3 months we want to create 3 committees – Water Committee, Electricity Committee, and Agriculture Committee. We want to make 2 big projects there and through these projects we want to make a big impact throughout the area.
