An Education Can Empower Anyone
October 7, 2022

Education is the light for all human races, for both young and old. Despite that, it has become difficult for some younger generations to pursue education because they are faced with life challenges like poverty and peer pressure, especially those who are coming from slum areas.
Illiteracy and poor living standards are what describe some of the people who dwell in the Kibera Slum. I met a young boy named Jarso who has been pursuing his secondary education. I took some time with him to discuss and explain to him the advantages of working hard on his education. As a result, his performance improved slightly from the previous term. He was very happy and appreciated the discussion that I had with him.
We have made a slight improvement in the areas of micro-financing and wellness, which have been introduced to the families in the Kibera area. Teaching them through Transformational Community Development (TCD) has brought changes to their living standards and health. There are still some challenges on the part of food and water because the government was more concerned about the general election this year. Also, the prices of commodities and services are rising on a daily basis. The vulnerable families have not received services from the government in the required capacity.
Thank you!
