Looking for Solutions
March 30, 2023
It continues to be a difficult time for the Mawa Transformational Community Development (TCD) village after losing almost its entire primary source of income due to a virus that has wiped out most of the swine population in the area. The TCD training team has been busy encouraging the community and looking for solutions together. While awaiting the rebuild of the pig farming system, community members are finding ways to earn income in the meantime.
Deborah and her neighbors have ramped up their business of digging for worms to be sold at bait shops. It is not a glorious or lucrative job, but it is helping to make ends meet during this difficult time.
Our hearts go out to the Mawa community, and the GHNI team continues to walk alongside them as they find their footing and build toward the future.
Thank you,
