Planting Seeds For the Future
April 30, 2023
Last quarter, we did a Transformational Community Development (TCD) lesson regarding identifying the problems of the community. After some discussion, the community discovered they were unable to save money since each family spends roughly 14,000 rupees a year purchasing vegetables from the market. So, we did a Seed Project in the community where we distributed seeds among the families. Out of a total of 25 families, 12 families were interested in the seed project and took part. However, out of 12 families, only 4 families were successful in growing vegetables.
This quarter, the TCD work with students in Shri Ambra has gone well. There were just 5 students when we started, and now there are 16 students. The tutoring is going on successfully.
In the Bahatola area, the community center, which was inaugurated on February 14, 2023, is now successfully functioning. Of the seeds that we distributed in that community, some of them successfully grew, and some plants were eaten by the chickens and other animals. The goal is to form a committee to further the growth as soon as possible.
A survey of Masalia students will soon happen. Once our TCD staff is ready in that area, we will conduct a seminar for students with the goal of helping them realize that education is important in everyone’s life.
A TCD training was arranged for the community leaders of 18 villages, where they received the vision of serving the community. Now, we are following up on how they can start TCD in their respective villages.
Thank you,
