Micro-Loans Lead to Sustainability
June 26, 2023
The micro-loan program gives hope and Income Generation opportunities to more than 25 households in the village. Due to the current situation across the country, it is difficult to generate income for poor families and a few families struggle even for daily food in the village.
The loan program helped the vulnerable families in the village start small businesses. Those who work at traditional mat knitting have made good progress this month. Our champion said, “The loan program is very helpful for the vulnerable families in the village because they have something to do to make income for their family living. Many people do not have food on their table. But now, the program gives hope to the families.”
Most loan takers will finish their work and will sell them at the market next month. Those who work on the betel plantation have prepared the land and built posts for the plants to grow. It takes more time than mat knitting. They will have their first harvest only after three months of planting. Although the community is experiencing a few challenges in terms of politics, it is still encouraging that they are making some progress in the area of family Income Generation.
Thank you,
