Villagers Learn Marketing
June 26, 2023

Mae Khao is the leader of a weaving group in Mae Pa Phai village. Her group made bags and Ka-reang dresses. She and the weaving group wanted to sell their products to the people who passed between Mae Pa Phai villages. So, she gathered her group to discuss the weaving group’s merchandising.
When we found out about the story, we met with the weaving group and led them through Transformational Community Development (TCD) lessons on micro-enterprise, focused on marketing principles. The weaving group proposed to make three signs, one sign for the shop and two more signs for directions to the shop.
They thought that if there were signs, they would be able to advertise their products and help passers-by see more. We therefore offered design assistance to them using real products from them to advertise. On the day the sign was finished, they looked excited. Many people came to help install the sign. They felt so proud that they had helped each other install this sign. When we asked what they thought about the signs, they said “It’s very beautiful.” And they believe that many people will see and help them earn more from these banners.
Thank you!
