Personal Value and Personal Growth
September 5, 2023
We continued to present the Transformational Community Development (TCD) program, focusing on learning to apologize. Jumana participated, and she shared her story. “I took a lesson last week on the art of apologizing, and now I say I am sorry when I made a mistake. I write every day about the beautiful things that I did and the bad things that I do. The good things I did were to go with my mother to visit my grandmother and help tidy up her room. This helped me to continue to obey and not make mistakes. A bad thing that I did was I quarreled with my brother, so I went and apologized to him, as I learned, saying sorry for what I did wrong.”
Through the lessons offered at the TCD development meeting, we also focused on people seeing their personal value. Nadia shared, “My husband always fails me and makes me feel worthless with his words and actions, like I am not important. After I heard the lesson at the TCD meeting, I knew that we are precious and loved, and I regained my self-confidence. I knew that I was loved because I was created specially, and I began to tell myself positive words and encourage myself. Even if my appearance and image are not beautiful, it is enough for me to know that I am a precious person with a mind, thoughts, and feelings.”
Thank you,
