Over the weekend, GILPP’s CEO and COO presented at a COP28 livestream event on the intersection of climate change, water, and peace. Also attending on behalf of GILPP and Global Hope Network International were Trey and Maddie Cason and Ambassador David Puyana. 

“Climate change, water scarcity, and the pursuit of peace are not isolated concerns, but are interconnected threads that demand our attention and collective efforts” representative Leon Saltiel explained.

Multifaceted perspectives and proposals from government, international organizations, and civil society were shared around the urgent issue of water scarcity. United Nation Assistant Sercretary General and UNITAR Executive Director,  Nikhil Seth emphasized the importance of preventative diplomacy which “…means we take action now, if we do not want these water scarce areas to become epicenters of conflict, and cause lack of peace. “
