Mobilized for Your Health
December 19, 2023
Right now, Kenya is entering a rainy season, so the government is cautioning its people to prepare themselves against diseases such as cholera, typhoid, malaria, and bilharzia. Children under the age of five are mostly affected, and extra care is needed for them.
The Gem community was not left behind. The Transformational Community Development (TCD) health teams have been mobilized by the Gem community’s Wellness Committee to go door to door, giving immunizations and alerting the community on the importance of boiling drinking water, especially now during the rainy season. The wonderful workers were able to cover the whole village and immunized every child under five years old.
Nakwamor, a renowned person in the Gem community, has eight members in her family, with three children under the age of five. She is very grateful to the TCD workers who came and taught them ways to stay healthy during this rainy season. She is very grateful to GHNI for mobilizing and training the health care team.
Thank you!
