Celebrating Health and Life!
December 19, 2023

We hosted a diabetes prevention campaign in Ezbet el Nakhl. More than 30 women had their blood sugar and blood pressure measured, and a lecture was given to them about what to do when it is high or low. A Romanian mother had her blood sugar measured, and it was 290, so it was very high. She did not know that she had diabetes and was complaining about other things. Ater measuring her blood sugar twice to confirm, it turned out that her blood sugar was high, which was the reason for all the fatigue that she was complaining about. She went to the doctor to confirm, follow up, and analyze the cumulative blood sugar. She has diabetes and started taking medication to control it. She said that she is very upset that her blood sugar is high, but she is happy that she discovered it early with us.
We continued to deliver the Transformational Community Development (TCD) lessons, and a little girl Batoul said, “I used to take my money while going to school to buy chips and sweets and eat unhealthy foods. After having a lesson on healthy eating, I now make sure to eat healthy food that contains protein, carbohydrates, and vitamins. I also learned to eat vegetables because a healthy mind resides in a healthy body.”
Thank you,
