She Walks the Distance
March 17, 2024

My name is Snezana, and I work as a Transformational Community Development (TCD) trainer in Ɖorgovska mahala. My team and I regularly visit Surdulica and host community meetings. We have three settlements in Surdulica, and many TCD participants from those settlements come regularly to meetings because they want to see the transformation and development of their settlements.
Duska is 30 years old and has three children. She lives in Surdulica in the Masurica neighborhood and walks six kilometers (3.7 miles) to come to our meetings. She told us she has wanted to hear something like the TCD topics about health and healthy relationships for a long time. She wants her family to be healthy, to learn about diseases and disease prevention, and to be able to pass those lessons on to others because her neighborhood has many people with heart disease and diabetes. She is happy that she attends TCD meetings.
Thank you!
