Small Store, Huge Impact

Africa | Kenya | Kibera Slum

Kibera is an extremely poor village located in Nairobi County. We have been coaching in the five areas of Transformational Community Development (TCD) for years, and this month, I have really concentrated on micro-entrepreneurship. The people living in Kibera live below poverty; the place has no toilets or running water, and most people living there have no source of income.
Mama Christine is one of the beneficiaries of the TCD program. When we first met, she was a housewife, but after our coaching sessions, we gave her a loan to start a small grocery store, which is now doing very well. She has already repaid her loan! She is finally able to provide for her family, and she is very grateful to GHNI for the partnership they have with Kibera.
Thank you!
