Business is Booming
July 15, 2024
“Business is not the cup of my tea.” This was the thought of Reena from Baromasia Village. Then she attended a session on Income Generation led by our Transformational Community Development (TCD) coach, Sefaniyal. The village committee was highly motivated to practice Income Generation, but they did not know what to do.
Sefaniyal noticed the village had no grocery store, and villagers had to trek nearly one kilometer away on foot to buy essential groceries. He continued to motivate and give training on Income Generation. Finally, Reena came forward to start a grocery store in the village. With the support of the local TCD committee and guidance from the TCD staff, Reena started her own grocery store right in the heart of the village. She stocked it with all the essentials needed by the villagers, from rice and lentils to spices and vegetables. Soon, word spread about Reena’s convenient and well-stocked store, and people no longer had to travel far to buy groceries.
Reena’s business is growing, and she earns a good income each day, enabling her to support her family as well as cater to the needs of the villagers. She has become a motivation for the villagers of Baromasia Village. Now the TCD committee is working on helping others in the village start some other small businesses that will help meet the needs of the villagers. After seeing Reena’s success, they are motivated and hopeful about a better future for the village.
Thank you,
