Increasing Skills and Responsibilities
July 15, 2024
We continue to provide Transformational Community Development (TCD) lessons for women. This month’s focus is training on how to use sewing machines. Umm Majid said that she needed to learn to sew and that it was the first time she used a sewing machine. She began to develop herself and learned to make a quilt. After a period of training in the TCD development class, she decided to start a project, buy a machine by herself, and get to work. She has to provide for her home and children. She said, “The TCD training really made a difference for me, and I learned a lot from it. I began to increase my income through this project.”
One TCD lesson on taking responsibility impacted many children in the village. Majed said, “I used to not help my mother much with her work at home. I did not clean my room, and I threw my clothes on the ground. I always played in the street, and I was reckless. I did not have any responsibilities. After I heard the lesson in the TCD development class, I learned I must be a reliable child and that responsibility is not based on age. My father travels and works in a remote location. I must be responsible, help my mother with her work, and meet her requests.”
Thank you,
