Motivated to Learn!

The House of Ruth students each holding their square sewing project.

In April, women delved into the world of beauty, mastering the art of cosmetics application, identifying products suitable for their skin types, and learning proper usage techniques. From hands-on workshops to personalized consultations and even hair styling sessions, Transformational Community Development (TCD) participants gained invaluable skills and knowledge.

Our English course began with introductions and fun games to create a comfortable learning environment. We started by learning the alphabet, focusing on words starting with “A,” then “B,” and finally “C.” Alongside the alphabet, we practiced common greetings to improve our speaking skills. By encouraging active participation, we’re not just learning English but also building connections and confidence together.

During the first month of our new English conversation course, the new students successfully completed the initial phase. The journey has been filled with learning new things and adopting new techniques. We are continuing with our maximum effort to progress to a higher proficiency level in the English language. Additionally, I have received feedback from my students this month indicating that they have studied the material, completed the review, and successfully incorporated new vocabulary into meaningful sentences through their own efforts. They believe that they will overcome all stages of language weakness through this course.

We kicked off the sewing workshop by motivating women to pursue their dreams, emphasizing their significant role both at home and in society. Throughout the month, women learned to use scissors and sewing machines and mastered the art of designing small pieces. It was a month filled with creativity, skill-building, and empowerment. We look forward to seeing these women continue to flourish in their sewing journey.

With pride and joy, we celebrated the graduation of a new cohort from the “Healing from Trauma” group. This special ceremony was filled with happiness and reflection. During the program, the women learned the art of understanding and expressing their emotions in a healthy and effective manner. They found a safe and supportive space to comprehend and contain their feelings, which contributed to enhancing their sense of inner strength and radiance. Throughout the course, participants acquired valuable skills in expressing their emotions and identifying their psychological needs accurately. A supportive and encouraging environment was provided to encourage them to interact and participate freely and confidently. We are proud of every step we took together on this journey, and we look forward with excitement to a bright future full of hope and development for these amazing women.

Thank you!
