Inviting in Women
A potential new TCD champion is making it easier to involve the whole community in future plans.
My work in the field of education in the village continues. This year, the Kyrgyz school opened a class for preschool children.
I also think I found a champion. He is the headman of two villages. His name is Rustam, and he is a kind person with a positive reputation. With his help, I held two Transformational Community Development (TCD) meetings and decided to partner with the school to purchase a heater. The school principal asked for help in buying a heater because the school is cold in the off-season. The children are small; they freeze, wet themselves, get sick, and miss classes.
I also asked Rustam to invite women to the general meetings to become involved in discussing how to solve community problems. Usually, it is considered indecent for women to be there.
Thank you!
