Honesty Brings Peace
Being honest lightens the conscience and instills a sense of inner peace.
As part of the Transformational Community Development (TCD) sessions held for women, a lesson on the virtue of honesty and its importance in human life, whether in matters of money, speech, or behavior, was presented. The lesson had a clear impact on the attendees, especially evident in Mrs. Najla’s story.
She recounted that one day she found a sum of money in a public place. Initially, she considered taking it, especially since she was experiencing financial hardship. However, after hearing the lesson on honesty, she felt her conscience awaken, and she remembered that honesty is not only about not stealing but also about returning what is rightfully someone else’s, regardless of your own circumstances. Indeed, Ms. Najla immediately took out the money and asked aloud, “Whose money is this?” She searched for the owner until she found the person who had lost the money and returned it to her in full, without any deductions. Ms. Najla expressed her immense happiness after returning the money and felt a great sense of inner peace. She affirmed that honesty always brings blessings and tranquility to its possessor.
The story of Mrs. Najla is a living example of the impact of honest words and proper education in changing behavior. The lesson was not just words but was transformed into action and into a stance that reflects the value of honesty in our daily lives.
Thank you,
