Standing Together in Sickness and Health

Transformational Community Development (TCD) workers, focussed on health, have been of great help to the Gem Village community, especially at this moment where there are a lot of disease outbreaks. They have been helping during Malaria outbreaks, even after the coronavirus outbreak. If not for TCD health workers standing by our side, it could have been disastrous to the people.
GHNI has played a critical role in ensuring TCD workers have been trained up, in order to better help the community. GHNI networked with other organisations to take TCD workers to various training seminars. This has been of great help to the health workers. It has enabled them to do first aid, and it has also enabled them to play a critical role in health awareness in the community.
TCD workers usually conduct door-to-door follow-ups for health issues, and they also follow-up on counselling in the community. Mama Natome is one of the people who is HIV positive. She almost lost the meaning of life, but through daily visits, and daily counselling by the health workers, Natome came to accept her status. She is taking her medication, and she is happily living with her family and having a happy life. She is thankful to TDC health workers for putting a smile in her life again. She is also thankful to GHNI for training the TCD health workers.
Thank you!
