Hope is Never Lost
December 2, 2022

Iren is one of the single mothers we have recruited for the Empowerment Program. She was a student at Ntulili Secondary, and during the COVID-19 season, her parents went through some financial challenges. She dropped out of school and later got pregnant. Her family was already going through tough times, and after they learned of her situation, they chased her from their home. She ended up on the street and had to support herself through commercial sex work. Through the Transformational Community Development (TCD) program, we happened to meet with her after we heard her story from one of our TCD health workers. We took initiative to help her see that all was not lost. Three months ago, she joined the GHNI Hope Restoration Program. We later visited her home to help her reunite with her family.
Thank you!
