An Excellent Neighborhood Example
February 3, 2023
My name is Snezana, and I work in Ɖorgovska mahala as a Transformational Community Development (TCD) trainer. This quarter, in addition to new lessons, we were reminded of what we learned about Wellness (health), Food, Water, and Education. We also did TOT-1 (Training of Trainers Course 1) lessons with the team, gaining more extensive training as local workers, and visited the settlement in Zaguzanje Village.
Meet Veljko. He is 18-years-old and an excellent student. He attended the TCD vision seminar and liked the program. Veljko is a good child who is obedient to his parents and tries to regularly attend our meetings. The lessons we taught meant a lot to him, especially the teachings of how to be a light in your neighborhood and have a love for others who are unlikable or hurt us. He wants to be an example in his neighborhood, always helping others. He wants the settlement to change and develop in every way. Veljko’s heartfelt progress is visible, and he is grateful to TCD and GHNI!
Transformational Community Development (TCD) Update:
Wellness
People are starting to understand the importance of prevention and want to invest in their health, understanding that prevention is cheaper than treatment.
Education
Parents were encouraged to send their children to school, and many of them who finished primary school went on to secondary school. Some of the teenage girls have graduated from medical school and are doing internships at the Health Center.
Thank you!
