Training the Next TCD Generation
June 26, 2023
This quarter, we held ToTCD 1 training for our new group, partnering with other like-minded people. I am trying to find men or women who can continue our work in Tajikistan. Lola, Kurbon, and I made a good plan for this spring and next quarter.
In the next 3 months, I want to help with some Transformational Community Development (TCD) seed projects and find some new candidates who can continue working once I leave. Through the seed projects, I want to see how they are working and thinking and how they act in villages.
I also want to tell you a story about a family that now lives in the Murtoch* area. Frank’s** family used to live in the Hujand area but had to move because of disagreements with local government officials. They moved to where his wife’s family is located, in the Murtoch area. Now, they live in an apartment and have to pay rent. Frank was very stressed and started to drink vodka a lot, and his stress became worse. He thought his life was done. I met him in Murtoch. He was drinking vodka because he had no hope. As we talked, he decided to stop drinking vodka. He now has hope, and he wants to start his life again.
Thank you!
