Welcome to Financial Literacy Class
August 11, 2023
Transformational Community Development (TCD) encourages more than one stream of income, but sustainability is entrenched in the capacity to keep and grow the income generated. In the month of June, Sayi met with local women of Batemone. The meeting was centered on financial literacy. The women were taught practical steps to save money, avoid unnecessary expenditures, and guard against spending money on avoidable situations like ill health. The women who took bank loans for the purpose of increasing their activities during the farming season were taught to avoid the temptation of diverting such funds for other purposes and keep proper accounts. TCD truly caters to the total man and ensures that life is lived to the fullest.
Transformational Community Development (TCD) Update
Wellness
With the provision of a ventilated improved pit (VIP) latrine, locals no longer have to carry out open defecation. This has led to improved health. Also, lessons on proper hand washing and personal hygiene have abated many sicknesses.
Income Generation
The purpose of TCD is not only to generate income, but to keep and grow the income generated through several activities introduced by TCD. The people are now more financially knowledgeable and are able to plug the holes by which money is wasted and save the excess.
Thank you!
