Clean Water in the Village!
November 3, 2023

My team is still helping the local community with water access. Water is the one main issue for the community in different villages. Most of them are bringing water from outside of their villages, as women carry the water on their heads.
One of our villages was in great need of water. After meeting with the village committee, they decided to make a water tank in the village. Hakeem* is the local key person in the village and leader of the village committee. Hakeem said, “We have been facing the water challenges for the last few years. We were not able to bring water lines to our village. But since we are taking part in Transformational Community Development (TCD) lessons and applying the community development approach, now we have the understanding to take ownership. We now have water at our doorstep and now we don’t have to travel to bring water.”
Transformational Community Development (TCD) Update:

Water
There was a lack of clean drinking water in the village and the committee played a key role to bring water to the village and store it in a water tank where the women can turn on a tap to fill their water jars.
Thank you!
