The family of Mr. Diba has lived in Kibera for many years, and they have had water challenges throughout that time. Getting clean water to drink or for use at home has been so challenging that they have resorted to buying water in 20-liter jerry cans for fifty shillings, which has really made things hard for their family during this tough economic time.
During one of our home visits teaching about Transformational Community Development (TCD), we met the family and took it upon ourselves to find a way to solve their water challenges. We mobilized other groups that had similar challenges, visited the Nairobi water services office, and put our issues into discussion. We were heard, and two weeks later they came and installed running tap water in the village. Mr. Diba is very grateful to GHNI for their support during the process.
Thank you!
