Educating the Youth for a Better Future
February 7, 2024
Kiwanjani is a village located in Isiolo County. The majority of people living in Kiwanjani live below the poverty line and are barely able to provide for their basic needs such as food and shelter. Due to these living conditions the youth are vulnerable and at risk of falling into bad vices such as drug abuse and getting early pregnancies. We have volunteers who go door to door checking the well being of the villagers. We, as the Transformational Community Development (TCD) volunteers of GHNI, came up with the idea of training the youth of Kiwanjani area for four days. We enrolled over 100 youths and brought a professional counselor on board who trained them on drug abuse and the value of education. There are very grateful to the volunteers who organized the event and made everything possible.
Thank you!
