Loans are Being Repaid
March 17, 2024
Regardless of the challenges we are facing in the Yone Taw Transformational community Development (TCD) program, we have some positive news this month. The micro loan program has benefited the loan takers for a couple months although there were drawbacks in committee accountability and transparency over the program. According to our champion, out of 25 loan-takers, 15 people have returned the loan to the committee this month. Out of 10 families who took loans for betel nut plantation, 8 families returned the loan, and out of 15 families who took loans for their mat weaving business, 7 families have returned the loan. This progress is impressive. Now, new people are interested in the loan program. Literally, the loan program helped the families generate income for their daily living, and created job opportunities for the community.
Thank you,
