Healthy Eating, Healthy Relationships
April 3, 2024

We continue to offer the Transformational Community Development (TCD) women’s program, and one of the participants is Mrs. Umm Maharael. She shared, “There are always differences between my husband and I and my children and I because of my insistence and my lack of understanding with them, which makes them constantly angry. My voice was loud and created problems at home. After I heard a TCD lesson about stubbornness, I decided to change and communicate with my family. I wanted to understand their feelings and desires, not be stubborn with them, be calm, stay away from anger, control myself and my emotions, be flexible, start a dialogue, and not be stubborn about things in which I might be wrong.”
We continued to provide TCD programs for children as well. After a health lesson about maintaining their bodies, one child, David, said, “During the lesson, I discovered that I was using my body and time in the wrong way when I stayed up every day until dawn in front of the Internet on my mobile phone and in front of the TV to watch movies and series. I made the decision not to stay up late in order to protect my eyes and my body.”
A little girl, Sabah, also participated and said, “I am harming my body by not eating healthy, and I decided to give up preserved foods, such as chips, and I will eat healthy food.”
Another child, Cyril, said, “I went to the doctor and discovered that I have fat on my liver, and I am very overweight due to unhealthy eating. He gave me treatment, but nothing changed. After participating in a lesson, I decided I would maintain my body. My thinking changed, and I knew that I was harming myself and my body by eating a lot of unhealthy food. I decided to organize eating times and eat healthy food.”
Thank you,
