Threshing Machine Saves Time, Labor, & Stress
April 3, 2024
The Transformational Community Development (TCD) committees in Effaoho continue to function and serve as a platform for engaging in TCD activities.
The Income Generation committee in particular has made giant strides in reorganizing and coordinating income generating activities in the community. Palm oil production is a major project that many of the women engage in through the TCD initiative.
Palm oil processing has become better coordinated as the committee accessed a palm kernel threshing machine which was brought into the community. Villagers can use it for a small fee. This has helped to reduce the stress involved in the manual processes.
Rosalie, a local woman who also produces palm oil, recounts how she now has increased her revenue and can now better cater to her household needs with reduced stress. The committee is hopeful that a palm oil processing machine will be owned by the community soon.
Thank you!
