Future Leaders Learning Practical Lessons
May 6, 2024
This quarter, we had the usual activities of visits and meetings with women in Zaguzanje, Surdulica, and Lebane. The group in Surdulica is progressing and has grown to 20 people.
After the vision seminar in November 2023, the Transformational Community Development (TCD) Training Level 1 (TOT-1) lessons continued with another three days of training, which took place in Vranje. There were 18 participants, and they showed great interest and involvement in the performances, discussions, and workshops. Mr. Avdija, a community leader, stated that this training came to them just in time because they had run out of ideas on how to reach out to others in the community.
We need to repeat lessons in the coming months to determine the community’s understanding so they can begin to practically use the lessons. They are future leaders and are especially open to TCD. Recognized problems in their settlement are things such as unsuitable drinking water, unresolved issues of sewage, a lack of education, poor nutrition, poor street lighting causing possible injuries, overflowing landfills in their settlements, addiction, and diseases.
Transformational Community Development (TCD) Update:
Education
We are encouraging parents and children to love school and education and for parents to work with their children to help them learn and appreciate how it can benefit them.
Thank you!
