From Despair to Hope!

Palisha with her food stand.

“A drunk husband always abuses me.” My name is Palisha. We have six members in my family. I am also a new member of Transformational Community Development (TCD). I became a member of TCD because I got married at a young age and I have four daughters. My husband abuses me a lot, doesn’t work, drinks alcohol, beats me, and doesn’t even care about food for the family. I used to think that it would be better for me to die than live a life. When I heard the teachings and lessons of TCD, I got the enthusiasm to live in the world and move forward and decided to live on my own two feet. GHNI helped me with a little seed money, and with that I started a small grocery store and bought some bags of potatoes. Now my family is running with that business. I am very happy because the TCD team picked me up when I was in trouble.”

Transformational Community Development (TCD) Update:

Water

I taught about water and encouraged the villagers to drink more water by going from house to house and in the community. I taught them to purify the water according to their ability and to adopt the home method. Put the part of the bottle in the mouth of the hand pump and wrap a thick cotton cloth inside as a filter. In this way, there are efforts to make pure water.

Food

We teach from the TCD lessons according to the needs of the community. Most of the people in our community grew up in such an environment that they had no knowledge and did not get a chance to learn in their life. Therefore, I have taught about the vitamins found in pulse, and one of the members is preparing the protein vitamins found in musri pulse by grinding at home.

Wellness

I taught the children how to wash their hands with soap and water and taught two pregnant girls about vaccination.

Education

I have emphasized and taught the women and the community how to make their efforts and plans successful. And I have taught the law about women’s rights to seven members and helped them to make an identity card for those who didn’t have one.

Thank you!
