Tailoring Center Brings Style & Opportunity
August 11, 2023
A while ago, a tailoring center was started in Apir, Benue State, Nigeria. This addresses the gap in skills acquisition and empowers interested locals by giving them an alternative source of income upon perfecting the skill. Months later, the tailoring center isn’t doing badly! It has provided a platform for locals and residents to learn and upskill, made them relevant in society, and given them another stream of income by making outfits for clients. They also make clothes for themselves. This is how Transformational Community Development (TCD) transforms – one life at a time, spreading to the entire community in a sustainable way.
Transformational Community Development (TCD) Update
Wellness
TCD Lessons have been helpful to the locals as they now keep their environment clean and have improved wellbeing.
Income Generation
Ahumbe is primarily an agrarian community. This implies that some locals may face challenges when they run out of farm produce. TCD lessons have been able to help reduce complete reliance on farming and explore other ways for income generation. Some loans were also given to help locals establish other streams of income.
Thank you!
