Little Changes Lead to Better Health
September 1, 2022
Guyatu is a young woman who has lived with her two children in the Kibera Slum, for some years. Before I met her, she had been using a kerosene cook stove, even though it produced bad smoke that affected her body. I gave her advice to use a gas cooker, which would not affect her body, and also only needed to be filled once a month. She appreciated my advice and was motivated to use a gas cooker in her home. From that day on, she had lived well, and her health is doing better.
In the area of micro financing, some of the Transformational Community Development (TCD) group members have established a small amount to help Guyatu with her family needs.
Getting clean water is still a challenge because some days there is shortage of water for human consumption. The cost of food is still very costly, and poor families cannot afford to buy it.
Thank you!
