Planting Trees For a Healthy Future
October 31, 2022
We have continued the teachings on food and nutrition in the village. There is a tremendous change in the mindsets of the villagers who used to ignore a balanced diet. They are not only talking about healthy food now, but also gearing up to raise green vegetables for every meal. Our distribution of fruit trees has also boosted the morale of the villagers.
Last month, through the Transformational Community Development (TCD) group, we distributed fruit plants to 15 more families with children who have been learning about nutrition. Ms Pratima has been the key player in bringing awareness about a balanced diet, as she has taken special efforts to visit door-to-door and ensure every family not only plants the saplings but also protects them well. Every family has been boasting that they now own fruit that they would normally buy from the market at a higher cost. Pratima and Sumitra are so happy and excited about those fruit saplings that they want to plant more trees with different fruits at their own cost.
Thank you,
